The Project: Private House Extension and Renovation, Cheltenham
The Brief: The client had bought a 3 bed detached house but wished to increase the size of the property to accommodate their growing family.
The project: Private House Extension, Home Owner
The Solution: Due to the suburban character of the property and those surrounding it the proposal had to be sensitive to its context within the street scene, however the client was keen that the interior and rear elevation were of a more contemporary nature.
Many of the internal walls of the ground floor were removed and a single storey extension built across the rear elevation of the house incorporating a large opening providing views of the garden and when the weather permits allowing the living space to flow between inside and out.
A two storey extension was built to the side of the original house on the footprint of the existing garage to provide a study and children’s room that relates to the main living accommodation but due to a change in level allows enough separation form the noise and mess.
